Call for Movement Artists
We invite movement artists to join the Home Bass Movement Artist Residency, a unique opportunity to practice, develop, and share your movement arts and craft in exchange for supporting the operations of our community space.
Our goal is to provide space, structure, and community connection so that artists can focus on creating new work while contributing to the heartbeat of Home Bass.
Application form can be found at 2025 Fall - [WIP] Home Bass Mvmnt Artist Residency Application Form.
What We Offer
- Studio Space: 5-10 hours/week of reserved studio time, free of charge.
- Platform for Sharing: Weekly opportunities to host classes, workshops, or sessions with the community.
- Community Sharing: At the end of your residency, we will support you in producing a community sharing circle afterward.
- Financial Support: Depending on needs & circumstance, we will consider paying out a stipend or small grant to support your residency.
What We Ask in Return
In exchange for this support, residents will:
- Dedicate ~5 hours/week to helping organize, clean, and maintain the Home Bass community space.
- Host 1 event per 1-2 weeks (class, workshop, jam, or session) to share aspects of your craft with the community. You can choose to run paid classes (NOTAFLOF for at-need community members) or open sessions, depending on the nature of your artistic process. These events should follow the Home Bass Community Organizer Guidelines and Home Bass Core Values .
- Present a community sharing circle at the end of your residency, highlighting your practice and creative journey, complete with a panel conversation and jam session.
Residency Example
You might apply to spend 2 months developing a new dance flow or refining a unique movement practice. During this time, we’ll provide you with the studio space and stipend support. In return, you’ll help us maintain Home Bass, host weekly sessions, and present your work in a final community event. Your work should resonate with Home Bass Core Values
